ICMM/NIH  Family Medicine Conference

We are happy to announce that Family Medicine conference in cooperation with National Health Institute of Armenia had successful training.  This is the first time that ICMM has cooperated with NIH after establishing MoU with them.  This was accredited by Health Ministry and more than 33 Doctors participated in a week conference, who besides receiving updated knowledge and skills also received 16 credits from Health Ministry (which is very important these days for doctors in Armenia).

Our tutors were from different fields of medicine,  Family Doctors from UK: Dr. Rose Simpson ( South Hampton Surgery Director) and  Dr. Marian Griffits,  Urologist; Dr. Vardges Avagyan (‘Maple Leafs’ Armenian- Canadian Clinic Director),  Doctors of Sport Medicine and Chiropractic;  Dr. Vahe Abrahamian (The owner of “Basic clinic”, Lebanon)  and Doctor of Family Medicine and KInesiotherapy; Dr. Syuzanna Voskanyan (CEO, ICMM).

Conference included topics about Emotional and physical care of patients, prevention and treatment of psycho-physical problems and some aspects of addressing spiritual aspects:  spiritual care and prayer for patients and families: supporting during grief period, palliative care, the terminal stages of diseases etc. We also talked how to prepare the patient in terminal stage, inform him/her and family members about everlasting life, encourage spiritually, lead for reconciliation, forgiveness, calling relatives and encouraging family members to surround the patient with warm and loving

Some of the participants shared their experience regarding spiritual care  showed to their patients, some of them testified that after prayer their patient’s situation and life was totally changed , one of them accepted Christ as savior, forgave people offending him etc  and  this topic lead to spiritual topics discussion.

Our tutors were devoted Christians who serve the Lord, some of them also serve in churches.

We also saw some patients in the clinic and during lecture 2 times.

We had positive feedback from the participants. All of them gave high score for the conference and also asked to organize another conference soon and special seminar days for Mascular-Skeletal system related problems prevention and treatment , which is very important for them.

At the end of the program  ICMM/ARDA  Medical Missions in Armenia have been presented to audience.

Bazarchyan for cooperating with ICMM, dealing with Health Ministry and providing conference hall , to  our tutors from UK, Lebanon, Canada, Armenia for joining in ICMM conference and sharing their skills with our doctors. From  November 13-20 we had vascular mission, too, dental mission each Sunday and  continues seeing patients for chiropractics. Vascular mission report will be separately sent.

We are requested by Yerevan State Medical University to organize seminars for their doctors,  conference participants asked us to organize extra seminar days for them again.

January 8-11 will have vascular mission again .
